In a scene reminiscent of a sci-fi blockbuster, a Tesla Cybertruck was captured on camera at SpaceX’s Starbase towing a giant rocket engine. SpaceX shared a video showcasing the electric pickup truck transporting the Raptor to the Starbase launch pad, watch the video clips linked below.
The striking moment was also recorded by ‘Starship Gazer’, a photographer who offers a glimpse of the exciting developments happening at the space exploration company’s Boca Chica Beach, Texas, factory.
The Tesla Cybertruck, known for its futuristic edgy design, is constructed from cold rolled stainless-steel, giving it a robust & otherworldly appearance that fits the stainless-steel Starship aesthetic. The all-electric pickup has generated considerable anticipation, not only for its unique design but also for its impressive performance capabilities.
In this particular demonstration, the Cybertruck was tasked with towing a Starship Raptor Vacuum (RVac) engine, which weighs approximately 3,500 pounds in its standard version. Notably, Tesla has claimed that the Cybertruck boasts a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds, depending on the chosen configuration. This remarkable towing power is just one of the many selling points of the Cybertruck, which Tesla states can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.9 seconds and achieve a range of up to 500 miles on a single charge.
The Cybertruck is a hot topic among electric vehicle enthusiasts, with many eagerly waiting to finally drive the innovative pickup truck they pre-ordered. Tesla announced it will begin delivering the vehicle to its customers on November 30.
Elon Musk, the visionary entrepreneur behind Tesla & SpaceX, previously unveiled his aspiration to create a pressurized version of the Cybertruck, designating it as the official truck of future Mars missions. SpaceX is relentlessly working on technologies to facilitate human missions to Mars, with the ambitious goal of landing the first humans on the Red Planet before 2030. As part of their plan, SpaceX is striving to accelerate the development of their Starship spacecraft, with aspirations to achieve an orbital launch before the end of 2023.
