The crew closed the hatch between the Soyuz MS‑28 spacecraft and the International Space Station at 11:45 p.m. EDT, setting the stage for undocking and return to Earth.
NASA’s live departure coverage will continue on Sunday, July 26, as NASA astronaut Chris Williams and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud‑Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev undock from the orbital complex (all times Eastern and subject to change based on real‑time operations):
- 2:30 a.m. – Undocking coverage begins
- 3:03 a.m. – Undocking from the space station’s Rassvet module
- 5:15 a.m. – Coverage of deorbit and landing begins
- 5:31 a.m. – Deorbit burn
- 6:25 a.m. – Landing on the Kazakh steppe, southeast of Dzhezkazgan
